If you’ve never been to an auction – or if you’ve never been to one of Alfred’s auctions – you’re in for a treat! Our friendly team will make you feel welcome right from the start, and in no time you’ll see that the focus is on having a fun day.
When you attend one of Alfred’s auctions, you don’t have to worry about buying something by mistake, feeling pressured, or bidding against yourself. As an auctioneer who puts an emphasis on professionalism and integrity, Alfred knows that nods, conversational gestures and yes, even nose scratches don’t constitute bids!
You can feel comfortable that we never misrepresent any items. We call them for what they are so you can bid with confidence. And Alfred’s auctioneering style is upbeat and easy to understand, so there’s no confusion.

Before the auction starts, Alfred will review the terms clearly. But here are a few quick tips to help you get you started on making the most of your auction experience:
Arrive early – about an hour ahead of the scheduled start time – so you can preview the items that will be auctioned. No matter how many pictures we post online beforehand, there are always many more treasures to be discovered!
Bring your driver’s license in order to register for a bidder number before the auction starts.
There is no sales tax at on site auctions, so you save money!
Don’t be shy! Raise your bid card up high – wave it around if necessary – so Alfred or one of his team is sure to see your bid.
Bring a major credit card or cash to pay for your winnings. We don’t accept checks.
Most of all, have fun! You’ll meet lots of new friends – our auction attendees are friendly people who love exchanging stories about their great finds and past auction experiences.
